Your questions answered
Changing from your existing agency or starting a career in
Estate Agency may seem daunting and we have answered some of
the most frequently asked questions here. If you are unable
to find the answer here, please contact an Office Owner and
they will assist you. Alternatively, attend one of our '60 minutes
with RE/MAX' information evenings.
Do I need any experience in Estate Agency?
No, you don't require any experience. Each Associate is required
to attend 6 days of Residential Sales training and there are
systems in each office to help you get your business and career
started.
How quickly can I get started?
That is entirely down to you. You can start building your own
business as quickly or as slowly as you prefer. Each Associate
can order a Marketing Starter Pack upon joining to help kickstart
your success.
How much could I earn?
Once again, this is down to you. Your drive and dedication
to your business will decide how much you earn. The office does
not cap earnings and there is no limit to what you can earn.
Associates regularly earn in excess of £30,000 in gross
commission per month.
How much commission on a house sale do I keep?
Associates can retain up to 80% of the commission generated
by the sale of a property. Compare this to 20% in traditional
estate agencies and you can see what the potential is for your
business.
What professional bodies do you belong to?
Most offices are members of the National Association of Estate
Agents or The Ombudsman for Estate Agents. Some offices belong
to both. Through your affiliation with a RE/MAX office, you
will have access to these professional bodies. RE/MAX also has
an internal Code of Ethics.
Do I have to pay anything to start my business?
Yes, there is a start up cost involved in setting up your business.
This is, however, a fraction of the cost of setting up on your
own. You will need to finance your initial Residential Sales
training and pay your Membership to the RE/MAX International
Network. You also have the option of purchasing a Starter Marketing
Pack or you are free to design your own material.
Are there any other costs?
Yes there are. Associates pay for the marketing of the properties
that they bring to the market and are responsible for personal
marketing and other personal expenses, such as a car and mobile
telephone.
I have questions that have not been answered here?
